The color of CBD oil differs from one brand to another. Knowing everything about the
color of the CBD can help you in determining the authenticity of the CBD oil. The color of the
CBD oil depends on the carrier oil being used, the way of extraction, and the presence of any
other additional ingredients in the oil.
In the raw form, pure crystalline CBD isolate is powdery and white. It easily gets dissolved in
the carrier oil and produces no impact on the color of the oil. Full spectrum extract is dark green
and brown in color. When you see CBD oil with no color, then think it as an isolate or broad
spectrum CBD.
Few factors affecting the color of CBD oil are the color of carrier oils, extraction methods, etc.
It’s very rare to use the CBD oil in its purest form without mixing it with a carrier oil. So the
color of the carrier oil gives the color to the end product. Olive and hemp seed oil are golden in
color, and MCT or coconut oils are colorless. CBD is extracted in two ways – the ethanol
extraction method and CO2 extraction method. When the ethanol method is used chlorophyll, a
substance responsible for greenish blue color is removed, causing the CBD oil to be colorless.
Sometimes the ingredients mixed with the CBD oil are also responsible for the color of the CBD
oil.
